Although a quick glance at ProgrammableWeb will tell you that the majority of new APIs use a RESTful approach, there are still cases where SOAP is the better choice. In this session, Tom Burnell, Senior Solution Architect at Axway, will discuss when you should use each, give a brief synopsis of the emerging trend of Hypermedia APIs, and examine a case study of a large utility company exposing the same back-end services via both REST and SOAP, depending on the use-case.
