Developer Experience (DX) has long become a critical success factor for API initiatives. Whether you are providing or consuming APIs: friction in development slows adoption, increases support effort, and in the worst case can cause integrations to fail.
In this talk, we focus on what DX means, especially in the context of APIs and how DX for providers and DX for consumers are linked. Based on Team Topologies, we explore how a platform team can improve DX for both API providers and consumers. This includes topics such as consistent design, documentation, maintenance, API discovery, and the lifecycle of APIs.
