Announcing our 2014 Nordic Tour

Happy New Year everyone from all of us at Nordic APIs! 2014 is going to be a great year for API adoption and advancement. It is also going to be another great year for Nordic APIs. 2013 was a fantastic first year for us. Andreas, myself, and our team:

  • Organized 9 events in 6 cities
  • Hosted over 50 different speakers
  • Were co-located with 2 other events, Internetdagarna and Øredev
  • Welcomed over 400 event attendees
  • Published almost 50 blog posts
  • Tweeted almost 450 interesting bits about APIs
  • Uploaded almost 60 videos to YouTube
  • Saw 11,000 unique visitors to nordicapis.com
  • Shared 14 presentations on Slideshare

That was our premier. We have big plans for year 2, starting with a tour around the Nordics!

2014 Nordic Tour

On April 1, 2, and 3, we will tour the Nordics together with Axway and others. We’ll start in Copenhagen on the 1st of April. We’ll then head up to Helsinki for an event the next day. (We’ll finally get over to Finland!) We’ll finish up on the 3rd in Oslo. In each city, we’ll start with lunch at 12:00, and the sessions will commence at 13:00. We’ll continue till 17:00. Presentations will be given by national and international speakers.

The theme of the tour will be APIs: From Private to Public. We will be exploring this topic throughout 2014. Through this dialog, we want to help people see that APIs are more commonplace then realized due to the widespread misconception that an API is only such if it is open. Andreas will expand on the topic in a blog post later this week, and Mark Boyd will be posting frequently here to develop the thought.

Registration is Open

Registration is open and tickets went on sale today:

Super Early Bird tickets with a 50% discount are on sale till the end of January. After that, the price will go up, so register today. If you do, your ticket won’t cost much more than the lunch that’s included.
