Building an API Platform is hard and it requires a lot from the API Provider. It requires the courage to publish core data, the support from management and much more. There are similar challenges when trying to build an Open Data Platform, but there are also differences since Open Data by definition should be available without cost and limiting licenses. Let’s take a look at how Cities, Government Agencies and others publish Open Data via APIs and how they build Open Data Platforms. This talk are based on the speakers experiences from multiple Open Data projects in Sweden as well as the result from Open Data projects from around the world.
