Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) is a W3C standard implemented by web browsers to prevent unauthorized access to resources hosted on a different origin (domain, protocol, or port) than the one making the request. Implementing CORS can result in more granular security while also opening up major new avenues for data interaction and transmission.
