Erika Newland is a Backend Engineer at N26 focused on launching innovative financial services technology in a microservice architecture. After completing her Masters in Marine Science, Erika embarked on a series of sailing and career misadventures before simultaneously transitioning into software engineering and motherhood. She is passionate about understanding and improving the flow of data through software systems and strengthening the financial wellness of underbanked and marginalized people. Erika lives on a sailboat in the New York harbor with her husband, cat, and two kids.
