You Need an API for that Gadget

In order to plug our gadgets into the Internet of Things those gadgets need APIs. But the software and standards needed to create an API can be intimidating to hardware people while the hardware and protocol stacks can be intimidating to software people. Plus there’s the question of API design. What’s the best way to model a physical device as an API? How do we stream the data, track state and query for devices? In this session we will tackle problems of data mediation, API design and consider the important roles that open source software and hypermedia REST APIs play in creating a true Internet of Things.
