Distributed systems bring with them complexities surrounding identity. How should identity be traced and delegated throughout the cloud? How can we scale user permissions across groups and large organizations? In this talk, we explore a standards-based approach using protocols like OAuth and OpenID Connect, highlighting patterns to scale APIs while keeping things simple. We’ll also see how identity is scaled within unique software delivery networks like Kubernetes.
