An increasing number of us are connecting to the internet and are using an increasingly large number of digital products and services, thus, generating a pool of valuable data where it is used by the firm to create value. Largely, they have been helpful in improving the consumer’s experiences, however, there is also a threat to individualism, identity, privacy, society and the economy through misuse, lack of accountability and opportunity costs. The talk will propose an ecosystem that will have two main benefits. Firstly, an ecosystem where the individual is in control of their data. Secondly, an ecosystem where organisations are connected and are able to share information when required in a fluid manner. This ecosystem is enabled by a series of industry-specific API standards. We will demonstrate the ecosystem using an example of the healthcare industry. We have been working on a Real Estate specific API system that we can share as another example and demonstrate how old systems can be replaced by an intelligent economy enabled by standardized API systems.

The talk will mainly cover the API element of the ecosystem, however, there is a short introduction to decentralized identity systems using the Blockchain.
