I discovered TypeSpec in March 2024 and, as a standards author, it was something of an epiphany for me, showing me a way of doing design-first that didn’t involve masses of YAML, daft modelling tools that don’t fit APIs, and making me suddenly feel like a developer again (people who know me would say this is a bad thing, but what do they know?)
In this talk I’ll wax lyrical about my experiences using TypeSpec, how it has changed my way of creating APIs, what my boilerplate project looks like, why I’ll be using TypeSpec for some time to come, and my hopes for the future of the language.
